Thavma Bikram Yoga is by far one of the best yoga studios I’ve practiced at. They have a beautiful space and every instructor has been incredibly descriptive and helpful in learning the correct way to practice Bikram. I highly recommend to anyone who wants to invest in their health and happiness.
First Time Advice

If you wear your yoga gear to the studio, don’t forget a change of clothes. Your yoga clothes will be soaked with sweat after; you won’t want to wear them home.
Wear what you will be most comfortable sweating in. Most women prefer shorts and a sports bra or tank top. For men You want to be sure you can move and stretch in the shorts you wear! Think; dress like you’re going to the beach! No long sleeves or pants please.
Drink plenty of water throughout the day & Avoid eating a large meal 2-3 hours before class. Come 15-20 minutes early to register. You can also SIGN UP AND REGISTER HERE.
Classes start promptly so be sure to arrive on time for class. Students will not be allowed into class after the teacher’s introductions are complete, to prevent disrupting the class for the other students.
We have changing rooms, with showers, cubbies and lockers for you to use. You can bring your own padlock if you would like to lock the locker or loan one from us for $10.00 deposit. Doors to the studio are locked during each class to ensure the security of your valuables. We also provide shelves inside the Yoga room to leave your bags.
During & After Class
Wear something you will be comfortable stretching and sweating in. If you don’t have Yoga clothing, shorts/tank tops, running clothes or swim wear also works. Try to avoid cotton t-shirts or sweatpants as they will likely be too warm. Be sure to bring a change of clothes for afterward.
The class is a demanding series of The Hatha yoga Postures suited for both the beginner and more experienced students. The room is heated to around 104 F and each class is 60-90 minutes in duration – this results in a fairly rigorous workout and it is very common to feel overwhelmed or a bit odd during your first visit. It is ok to sit down at any point during the class.
The first 15 – 30 minutes after class is the most crucial time to recover. Take it easy and drink plenty of water. Come back to your next class within 24-48 hours.
Thavma is a combination of the first letters of our names Thano and Marina . The –V- with the flame in the center, stands for Vikrum in Sanskrit which is for Victory. The Flame, on the top symbolizing the heat we use at the Thavma Yoga studio.
In Greek, Thavma means; “miracle”, and its exactly what I have experienced after doing 20 years of Hatha yoga. After walking out of a Thavma Yoga class, a true victory is accomplished and miracles begin to happen.
